Bread 3/12/13

Messing around with flavors I like and see if the will work in bread.

the first one is Toasted Fennel Seed and Roasted Carrots Whole Wheat.

The next is Flax and Sunflower Seed Whole Wheat.

Has anyone else noticed that the bags of 5lb bag are an ounce light? My last three bags have been short, and that's not counting the bag itself!

I have an problem

I am geting a "burnt" bottom on my breads. I bake at 450 in a gas oven in one cast iron pot and one ceramic pot covered, both have the same effect. I tried putting two layers of parchment paper between the bread and the pot, still no luck. I bake for 40 minutes covered and 8 minutes uncovered.

Quick Dinner Rolls

I made some quick sourdough dinner rolls for my stew last night, I know there is a little bit of yeast in it so not a "true" sourdough but tasty.

And I got my starter a new home for being so nice to me.
