Some serious experiment here.

Yowza!
I think he would fit right in as a Bill Swerski Superfan. Da Bearss!
I know the author of the post was having fun and writing a mockery, but in spite of all of that I espouse this as a remarkably good idea because it is the best kind of innovation for the following reasons:
1. It is an extremely simple variation
2. It seems like a wild and crazy brand new thing that wouldn't work
3. It appears to be singular
I say this because I just made a Gatorade sourdough a month ago and this is the first I've heard of anyone else thinking of it. I own and operate a bakery that is approaching $2 million in total sales and we make all kinds of sourdoughs with unique additions such as this. In the past we have made Smores sourdough, Top the Tater bread, Turmeric SD, Toasted Coconut-Pear SD, Apple Pie SD, Cherry Pie SD, Cheese curd SD, Beer-cheese SD, hominy and mole SD, pickle bread, watermelon bread (looks like a watermelon), and many more. Some are received better than others. Some were our own inventions and others were not. But I love this kind of variation and I think it's a great way to have fun with bread, explore different flavors and effects of certain ingredients, and stand out from the crowd.
I'm not sure I would like the Gatorade bread, but you're right that it is worth a try. All sorts of liquids are used in breads—cider, hard cider, beer, pickle juice. Why not Gatorade? Experimentation leads us all forward, and it can be just as important to know what doesn't work!
Are you familiar with the Superfans? A Chicago-themed classic! I think they might appreciate the Gatorade bread.
(not big on the potty mouth) but good for a few laughs. Brightened my day. Sure to brighten yours. Hubby kept askng, "what?" as I chuckled. Na ya, maybe one day.
Often diluting a flavoured water with flour ends up much milder than the drink itself. A surprise would be an equal or stronger flavour. My smellcil (smell + pencil) is loosing its root beer aroma and getting shorter. Maybe a rootbeer bread might wake up my senses to keep me dreaming of A&W floats, roller skates and hanging out in classic cars. Haven't seen the extract in years. Kool-aid is more available in the states. Was it orange juice & coke made tootsie roll flavoured drink?
