Hooch: pour out or mix back in?

I am currently making my very first mother starter. In the event that I get hooch, do I pour it out or do incorporate it back in the starter?

The hooch is not a bad thing at all. You can either pour it off the top or mix it back into your starter when you refresh.

mainly with the idea of not altering the hydration of my starter. Admittedly I don't know if it would make a meaningful difference if I poured it off.

But hooch is often mistaken for separation if too hydrated. 

If hooch does form then stir back in for more tang or carefully pour off for a more mellow starter.
