We have some serious winter weather today, no bread in the house, too late to start a bread to have with lunch so I thought Cherie made Mac 'n Cheese yesterday biscuits would go with the left overs.
This is more or less the recipe, I added cheese to these and at other times add fresh cranberries or soaked raisins. I think the secret to making them tender is to use minimal bench flour and work the batter as little as possible. I think the original recipe asked for butter milk and no cream to tartar but I have been using normal milk with good results. The rest time seems to make a difference to the amount of rise you experience in the oven.

P.S. Often when using cheese I cut back on the salt
I wish I could reach through the screen and eat one. Well done!
Such beautiful high-rise biscuits! I have tried for years to make biscuits like these. Would you please share the rrecipe? Thanks.
