In addition to [trying to] make my own starter, I wanted to get a couple that were already started. I ordered one from Breadtopia, sent out for the Oregon Trail Society sample, but I wanted to see if I could get some additional recommendations for where to get cultures from.

you might want to wait until after you get the starters you ordered, When I started baking I had the starter my neighbor gave me & ordered the King Arthur one & it just was too much. One great started is all you need, if you have 2 it's dble the feeding etc. It can get really out of hand. I ended up just combining mine & I leave it on the counter so it is fed daily except when I go out of town it moves to the fridge.
Not to discourage you but it gets a bit crazy to deal with! Happy baking,
