Replensihing hops starter

I'm "cooking" a hops starter that I found in Bernard Clayton's Book of breads. It's

a neat recipe and involves using mashed potatoes and cornmeal. There is no yeast

in this recipe. I'm wondering if it can be replenished and with what-----

I just learned that Mr. Clayton passed away and late March and had thought

of sending him an email---perhaps someone in this forum has an idea.
