New Starter showing little signs

Toast

Hi

I have a starter that was ok to begin with but is now showing signs of bubbles on the top but nothing at the sides although it is rising in the jar. Could it be too loose and maybe should reduce the water in the feed and feed mainly with flour?

a few days before using with the starter so that any chlorine can dissipate.  Full history would be helpful, also temperatures.

I was feeding everyday, I havn't discarded until the 5th day when the jar was pretty full. I use bottled water, I have it on a heat mat which I'm also using for growing seeds and the temperature is about 20-22 degrees centigrade.

Its now 7 days old, happily rises almost double in size as soon as its fed but I give it a stir and it drops but doesn't re-rise and bubbles are very small but lots of them inside.  It smells fine slightly acidic but nothing overpowering or nasty. Today I doubled the quantitiy of flour to water -

Sorry pics are not right way, bit knew to this but you get the picture, I hope

Looks fine to me. Just discard all but 50g now and feed your 50g water and flour.  Patience is the key...
