these are my first attempt at making English muffins and I must admit, I'm really really pleased with them. The recipe is from tartine by chad robertson.
For those of you who don't own that book, the recipe is a baguette dough that you flatten out on a baking sheet and then let rise like that, I used a 3 inch cookie cutter to cut them out, and then fried them in a little clarified butter for a couple of minutes on each side.
Even my daughter likes them...success!!

are dry fried in an electric skillet at 350 F - no butter. From now on butter it is. Well done and happy baking
Yeah, looks like you nailed them. Well done.
...I have ever seen. I gave up on making them some time ago, as I could not achieve the "nooks and crannies" of a commercial English Muffin (ie Thomasville).

Great job Stu. These look perfect. Very interesting using the butter. Will have to give that a try...after I lose the last 7 pounds on my diet :).
