The new format of TFL is pleasant and easy to read, and I'm sure most of us members like it better. Yet there is one feature that isn't quite working right. It's too easy to post a top-level comment when you meant to post a threaded reply.
I think this is because a nice big text box sits there ready to be typed into, but it will produce a top-level comment. It's just so easy to forget and think it's waiting there for a comment on the last post rather than the first post. I've posted to the top level post many times by mistake, and I have noticed that many others seem to get the threading wrong too.
The only thing I can think of that would help, and be easy to implement, is to not have any text box visible until a user clicks on "Comment On This Post" or "Reply To This Comment" as the case may be.
I hope Floyd can revisit this little design issue once he has some time to breathe again.
