My name is Alice Howell and I’m from sunny Los Angeles. I’m thrilled to be a part of this amazing community of passionate bakers and bread enthusiasts.
Baking has been a part of my life for a while now but I still consider myself a learner. I’ve been experimenting with sourdough lately and it’s been such a rewarding (and sometimes challenging!) journey. I love the alchemy of turning simple ingredients into something delicious and soulful.
I joined The Fresh Loaf because I wanted to connect with like-minded folks, learn from your expertise and share my experiences. I’m especially interested in exploring different bread recipes, techniques and troubleshooting tips to level up my skills.

If you've been lurking for a while, you might already know about the Search tool. If not, it's that white box in the upper right hand corner of most pages with the button labeled “Search” beside it. Just type in a search term that interests you, like bagels or diastatic malt, click on the Search button, and you will be presented with a long lists of posts that contain your topic. With close to twenty years of use, there's a lot of information available.
