our very old plastic bread box is cracked badly. Never much cared for it, but I would like something countertop for storage other than a paper bag.
Just big enough for one loaf. I'm thinking wood. Anyone have one they like and recommend that isn't $200.
If it matters, more for loaf type sammy breads not so much round, sourdough or more artisanal.

maybe for refrigerated breads. but this doesn't breathe at all.
I'm looking for countertop storage of bread. Bread that is refrigerated in my experience is a completely different thing.
"...Sits perfectly on the cupboard, on countertops..."
Guess I misunderstood.
hadn't seen that one.
I'll prolly go with this one.

more real estae than I usually need, but I'll just have to bake more.
Just use a stainless gastronorm (with lid)
Then just choose the height to fit your bread size. We usually use 150mm high for most but sometimes need to bust out the 200mm high.
As these are a universal commercial product, the price for what you get is really good and there are usually a few very low cost options. Super easy to clean, and it's not like you were looking for a transparent one so stainless is not a loss on that front.
cool. never thought of them.
Thanks,
Our whole house almost runs on gastronomes....You don't realise how many things are based on that modular sizing into until you start using them.
