First time focaccia

Toast

Yesterday I baked my first ever focaccia!

I'm just starting to get into bread making, and thought this would be a fun thing to start with since my wife and I love focaccia and it didn't seem overly difficult.

I decided to follow a Rosemary Focaccia recipe I found from SteveB (http://www.breadcetera.com/?p=96), which I believe was adapted from a Peter Reinhart recipe.

I thought it turned out really well for my first focaccia bake. Next time, I think I'll give it a few more minutes in the oven, and also add a bit more oil to the sheet pan, as I had a little sticking when trying to remove the focaccia. Otherwise, was absolutely delicious. Thank you SteveB for the great recipe and instructions!

Enjoyed the focaccia with some pasta, meatballs, and wine. Can't go wrong with that combo ?

Congratulations on a successful first bake!  Focaccia was one of the first breads I baked other than the no knead recipes.  It can be a lot of fun to think up other toppings as well and be creative as I am seeing on Instagram with using the vegetables to create a picture of something on the focaccia.  It really is a blank canvas that you can be creative with.

That looks amazing! I am going to look up the recipe, because despite baking bread for about 20 years, I have never been able to make a good focaccia. I am hoping it is the recipe and not me. ;-)
