NYC Maison Kayser

Toast

I am obsessed with Maison Kayser's white chocolate veinnois.  Since living in the Denver area makes it difficult to get this tasty treat, I've been searching for months now for a similar recipe.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I cannot live without real kasha knishes, lox, real pizza and a few other NY foods that are either unavailable or too different elsewhere for my taste. Forget getting a good kasha knish outside of the city, Brooklyn, or a few delis on the Island or in Jersey. Lox the same, until you get to Europe or the Pacific Northwest.

This is a higher being telling you to visit once in a while. Denver is lovely; the people are nice; there is wonderful hiking very close by. I've never seen such a high percentage of fit people anywhere else. And they drive on ice (something we DC folks lose within 3 years of moving here). But come on, you can't get a real slice there. Impossible.

Try to make your favorite baked treat, but don't give up on the city. You need some borough energy once in a while, if only to feed the soul.

Thanks for the input!  I'm not giving up travelling to NYC.  It's just not convient to fly there for a favorite treat.  Still looking for the recipe.  Wish me luck.

But the texture of this bread if seems to be more cake-like than the bread from Miason Kayser. I've been thinking of reducing the milk & butter in the recipe so it's more like bread than cake, but have not really baked with milk/butter before. Does any one have any advice?

Will try this and report back. Thanks!
