Hi everyone, I'm Patryk, nice to meet you :)
I've been an avid baker since I was a teenager, but I never really embarked on the bread journey. Bread was always something you bought in the grocery store, and even though we had a breadmaker, all the recipes for it were bland and boring.
However, a couple months ago I bought a Staub cast iron for my wife as she loves cooking, and I tried my hands at the Bon Appetit's "BA's Best Bread". I was shocked with how amazing it turned out, and even though I injured myself four times while making it, I'm craving more.
So I was quite delighted when I received a sourdough starting kit with a dried, established starter through an internet gift exchange. I quickly bought myself a nice jar and a banneton and today I hope to birth my starter :D I am going to name it Wasabi.
I found this forum through a friend of my wife who has had a sourdough starter for 1.5 years now and she recommended me that this community is just what I need, so here I am!
So thank you for having me!
Nice to meet you in our forum. I am sure you will find out interesting and helpful information about baking. Wish you luck with your loaves. Breadmaking is a really interesting hobby, share your tips and secrets with other members.
Welcome to the TFL forums Patryk. You will find a lot of people with a huge amount of knowledge and huge generosity in sharing that knowledge. I will look forward to your contributions to the forums. By the way, I love the name Wasabi for your starter. If you like Japanese flavours you might like the Red Miso Furikake sourdough that I baked over the weekend. It is in my blogs.
