Bread masks against Covid-19

I cannot think of anything I'd rather breathe through than a fresh slice of home baked bread!  (Especially a spiced rye.) Wonderful!  So wonderful!  And what a great way to greet the day or anytime for that  matter.  If you know me, I'm up to something and thinking too much.  Ah heck!  Slice and put your face and nose deep into crumb.  Ahhhh.  Relish the time standing still. Take a deep breath and slowly let it go.  Ahhh bread yoga.

Now to get back to topic.  Sorry.  Covid and face masks.  What about a bread face mask?  Wouldn't that be the top all?  Especially for this crummy bunch.  Put on your thinking masks and have a little fun with me and in the meantime....

Thank goodness for, help me celebrate, the face masks with a filter pocket!  Yay!  Now we can slip in a thin slice and go hands free taking in our favourite aroma.  Fancy that.  It can even remove  stinky dog odors!  Supermarket, here I come!  (Next week)

Anyone got a face mask with a bread theme?   (All photos and ideas welcome regardless of their filter number.)

I've seen links to several mask-making how-to videos on Utube.

Even if they are not up there in the 95 to 99 % effective range,.... hey... 50% effective is better than nothing.

Plus, if they help prevent you from touching your face, that is a benefit too.

Here's a design/how-to that includes a pocket for inserting your own filter, or slice of bread:

Trust you Mini.

Rye is also preferred owing to its impenetrable crumb structure. You can bump Trevor W off the top of the obsessive bakers’ bestseller list with your new title Virus-Excluding Crumb Mastery.

Windowpane. Perhaps you could increase the filtration if the tanghzong method was applied.  My wife has been sewing those masks that have the inserts, but it would require too much explaining, if I were to slide a bread filter in one of them!

For me the issue is I touch my face all the time.  Definitely making something, if only to stop that.  Maybe I'll actually be able to wear makeup without smearing it from now on.  LOL

i noticed that just wearing gloves into the supermarket kept me from touching my face.  A mask even more so.  I cut out some fabric to make six masks and it went well today.  Ready to slip in a piece of tight crumbed rye.  :D

Where did that pepper praying mantis come from?

They told me that all I needed to go shopping was a mask and gloves. They lied when I got there everyone was wearing clothes!
