Hi Guys I'm new to the group

Toast

Hi and good morning from across the waves.

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Stig and I was born and raised in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. My Grandmother was a baker as was her mother before her and I was raised in a bakery doing odd jobs for her and then learnt to bake myself. Although I worked for some time in a couple of bakeries I didn't pursue it as a career and moved into sales after several years. I am now what you would call a hobbyist in pastries and doughs.

I am new to sourdough and have raised up a few successful loaves. This is a new journey and im sure I will have many questions and I have already found answers in here that are very useful indeed so therefore I thank you all for that and i'll thank you now in advance for any future advices you many give.

Ps. I now live in Zhanjiang,China so I am really glad I know how to make decent breads and pastries lol

You'll have a great time here.   This is the most fantastic bread blog on the net.  Many friendly people and some professionals and semi-professionals with vast knowledge.

The choices for ingredients and availability should be good.  Ovens on the other hand can be hard to find. :)

Yeah Zhanjiang is a port, good for seafood but a very small place not so good for anything "foreign" lol, but then there is always taobao ; )

I lived in Shenzhen for 9 years and have been in China for just over 10 years now so I'm pretty au-fair in getting in supplies to keep me in hoe comforts. I have a small rotisserie oven that is just about big enough to roast a good sized turkey in so its great for baking but just on one shelf.

Mustn't grumble though eh ; D
