Hi, all,
I need a device that can steadily create an environment in the 50C/122F to the 65C/149F range for 3 - 48 hours. I've used the stay-on function of a (non-digital) toaster oven but kept having "accidents" if I'm not vigilant. What are your thoughts of using a BT to do the job? Or is there a digital toaster oven that would stay on with precise temperature control? Thanks.

There are many devices that can do that. Some yogurt makers, sous vide devices, more advanced multi-cookers, external temperature controllers paired with a dumb water bath.
- it cannot reach 65C.
Took me like two minutes.
I'd like to know which brand — the yogurt function of my instant pot plateaued at a much lower temperature.
Look carefully, at what I wrote.
do you use?
It surely is clumsy.
As they used to say in the old country "Do you need a ride, or do you need checkers?"
Brød & Taylor says their temperature range is 21-49° C, so I don't think it'd help you with this, unfortunately.
for the information!

Hi, Floyd,
Does the range you provided apply to both slow cooking and proofing? If there's a different range of temperature that can be controlled for slow cooking, then BT could still be a solution for me.
Yeah... I noticed on the site that they have a section about using it as a slow cooker (a bit more here). I've never tried that, and it doesn't come with a particular pan or attachment for that, nor information on how to control/translate the hot plate temperature to the slow cooking temperature. So ... if you have the right equipment -- metal pan that fits it right and another thermometer to check the cooker temperature -- and you are willing to experiment a bit, you might be able to get what you want. It'll take some experimenting though.
Looking at their site some more, I guess mine is an older model. Mine doesn't have a slow cooker mode, the new one does. That does look promising!
From the manual for the Models FP-105 / FP-205 - which is what I have they show this temp range for the unit.
Temperature range: 70 - 195 °F 21 - 90 °C
I felt that a higher temperature range is needed for cooking, and thank you for confirming it!
Can you set the timer up to 48 hours? I guess I can find out later - I placed the order! Feeling relieved already

My model does not have a timer, but the manual FAQ says it can just run continuously. When I have used it for yogurt I just set another timer to remind me in 24 hours or so.
Hope it works out well for you. I really like it.
