Hi, all,
My order came with one of each of the following powders:
- pH 6.86 @ 25C
- pH 4.01 @ 25C
- pH 9.18 @ 25C
The instruction of my pH meter calls for the pH6.86 buffer solution to calibrate. Does that mean the remaining two are useless for my meter?
I'm wondering why I've only seen three-powder-bundle for sale. Does anyone know of a source that sells the pH6.86 alone?
Thank you.

You can purchase single value Buffers from Fischer Scientific (fishersci.com). Just search for pH Buffers.

Will check it out!

Hi Yippee,
Perhaps they are meant to be used as low and high controls to test for accuracy after your calibration with the middle one. And any time you want to check the meter to be sure it is working properly and giving you reliable readings across a range.
All best :)

My el cheapo (but surprisingly good) pH meter has a 2 stage calibration using the 6.86 & 4.01 buffers.
On Ebay UK you can get the pack of 3 buffers from China (if you don't mind the wait) for less than 1GBP, so cost is not an issue here.
