Hi Everybody,
This is my second loaf that is part of my new project "Sourdough Bread Storytelling - The Romanian Traditional Village". It contains nettles and caraway. Two intense flavors, but they match surprisingly well!
I scored the bread with "wolf tooth" - symbolizing house protection and "rozeta" - a solar symbol. Both symbols are very popular in some parts of Romania (for instance in Maramures), as they were used by local carvers for decorating the traditional wooden gates. Rozeta had many graphic variations, depending on the carver's imagination. The one I displayed is one of them.
A beautiful way to bring beauty to daily life! I hate to ask for a crumb shot but it looks intriguing.
How do you achieve the beautiful precision of that stencil? It is flour, I'm assuming? Do you use any liquid to "paste" the flour? Please explain how this is done.
Thank you! All that I use is flour and a simple sharp razor blade. No liquid.
Great looking Loaf :)
Thank you, Neil!
Beautiful.
Thank you!
eating that. It's beautiful.
Same feeling here. :) But as I discovered that the nettles match so well with the caraway seeds, I move on. :)
wow.. great looking bread!
Thank you very much for your kind words!
I can't stencil, wish I could be pointed in the right direction. Your loaves are fab
