ive read somewhere (can't remember where), that bread keeps better or crust taste nicer if you brush the bread with oil after its baked. Or was it kept in an oiled bag?
Has anyone done this? If so what were the benefits if any.
I drizzled some walnut oil on the loaf 2 hours after it came out. Crust was nice, very flavoursome. crust wasn't too soft it was actuall quite crispy. But there again I didn't do a controlled loaf with no oil, so I've no idea what the loaf would have been like if I hadent oiled it!
Will make the crust softer and could also help loaf to keep better. But mostly, I think it is added for softness and flavor for the crust.

You might try using a mixture of equal parts olive oil and milk as a glaze before you load your dough into the oven.
