What are the keys to making pita puff?

I cant seem to get my pita to puff 100% of the time. I actually really enjoy the failed attempts so it's not a huge source of sadness for me, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

It's hard to know what you're doing wrong, or not doing at all, without knowing your process.

I made pitas a couple of times and the first time, I found that the couple didn't puff because I wasn't rolling them thin enough. I found I had to get them as thin as a crepe. 

How thin are you rolling them?
