i hope to stand among you one day as a peer. Newbie right now.,,, nay a middle user of bread right now. /am wanting to look at sourdough. I've got a going starter.
best starting books? Looked at bread baker's apprentice by Rhein hart (sp)
I am not one of those people. I started with Forkish's book. But his starter amounts are grotesque and wasteful. My go-to book is Hamelman's, but I waited 6-8 months b/f buying it b/c it assumes a ton of knowledge. Good luck and I agree w DaB, go to your library. Everyone is different. Find the book/author that speaks to you and go from there.
I'm not really a book person to be honest. I get most of my ideas from right here LOL!! I started with a basic SD loaf and I pretty much just play around with that formula now.
check out, page through, all the bread books they have before buying any one of them.
Welcome and happy baking
