Anyone use Lidl bread flour?

Toast

If you have the strong white bread flour do us a favour and tell us the protein per 100g, I threw away the packet.

I'm making some bagels and upping the protein a little with some vital wheat gluten. :)

Thank you!

Just for reference I have just looked at allison's strong white bread flour and it is 12 grams of protein in 100 grams

Spelt Wholemeal is 13.3g in 100

Aldis wholemeal is 13g in 100

Surprising how much the protein content varies in the supermarket flours. I've got on fine with Lidl's and it's cheap.

Asda's wholemeal bread flour 13.8g

Asda white bread flour 12.6g

I have some Lidl wholemeal it's 12.7g.   I remember the White being around 12.5g but not exactly sure.

Here's a useful tool for anyone who uses vital wheat gluten to up the protein.   You could also try it with cakes,  use your all purpose flour that are typically 10% in the UK, and then add cornmeal flour about that's around 0.4%.   Get it down to around 8% protein content of cake flour.

Just put in the protein percentage of your flour in substance A, then the protein percentage of the vital wheat gluten in B.

Then add how much flour in total you'll be using in Mass, and under that the percent you want your flour to be.
