Greetings, I did a quick search of topics and apologize if this has been done to death but I was given this old mixer and while it works the one attachment I was given the dough hook doesn't even come close to mixing the ingredients in the bowl. Its gotta be the wrong attachment right? Is the bowl too big and deep? I don't know anything about this thing and while shes a beauty and Id love to find someone to restore her to its former glory I dont know if its worth the time and trouble.
It looks like the dough hook pictured might be for a tilting head mixer. Any replacement attachment for a five quart Bowl-Lift KitchenAid stand mixer should fit. In addition, you can also use the PowerKnead™ spiral dough hook that fits the Professional 5™ Plus Series and Professional 600 Series Stand Mixers. If you use the spiral dough hook, the mixing load should be reduced (no more than 1-1/2 pounds or 680 grams of flour).

Thank you so much for the comment I'm not having too much luck finding information on attachment's for this thing. I will search online for those pieces. I'm just a home cook so I'm not concerned about overloading my machine.
You can buy accessories from kitchenaid.com. The spiral dough hook can be ordered from bedbathandbeyond.com.
Thank you so much for the comment. I am having a difficult time finding pieces for this and I didn't know where the start.
