Some tasty treats for a rainy week

Well after a solid week of rain and very heavy rain the last couple of days the sum has finally come out. Shown is pulla left and double chocolate expresso cookies on the right. I bake a loaf of pulla every week or two and my rolling out of the braids and braiding is slowly getting better.

To Giada's recipe which follows, I added 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. Yummmmm!

Well with all the rain we have had my garden is lush with the daisies up front in the sun really putting on a show!

Happy baking! Ski

Braiding makes it look so fancy, a treat for the eyes, as well as to eat. From this angle, the beautiful contrast of dark/light reminds me of a slalom course down a mountainside. Enjoy!

A slalom down a mountainside is an image I can relate to. Thanks!!!

Gorgeous bake and those flowers !  Lovely. Rain makes them bloom so it is all good. c

First glance at the picture without reading, I thought the cookies were store bought but it looks like they do not correspond to what is written on the tin! It's raining here every afternoon too despite temperatures still reaching 90F++. With some coffee or tea, they're perfect for rainy days.

Nice flowers too. Happy baking!

Baking tasting great and my garden is looking lush with all the rain. I spend much time outside in the mountains I live in and have little time to post here. I always enjoy your posts and great looking baking with NO oven!

Happy baking! Ski

Love those daisies.  The Pulla and cookies are welcome to sprout some wings and fly on over here any time :).

You must give the pulla a try some time. The chocolate cookies? To quote Guy Fieri, " enough to make your kid mow the lawn, wash the car and shave the cat . . ."
