Help with barm

Toast

I found barm in the back of my my refrig (no mold), probably four month old with out feeding. Can I refresh it and use it, or just throw it out. If I can, what is the longest I can kept  barm in the refrig without feeding.

Barm is the yeast skimmed off the top of fermenting beer that they used to levean bread with long ago and where commercial yeast is derived from today .  I think you are talking about SD?  If so then get some of the liquid stuff off the bottom and feed it 30 g 0f flour and water and see if it can come out of its slumber.  I keep a rye SD starter in the fridge ofr 4 months all the time  no worries.
