Hello everyone! I've been reading and learning from ya'll for a few years now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Today, I was wondering if anyone can help me find a wood frame for making Japanese Castella (Kasutera) cakes? I've tried a few sites and the local Japanese markets, but to no avail. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Are you living in Japan? If so, they should be readily available in the DIY baking stores. I can't vouch for their availability, but if the DIY baking stores are anything like the ones we have in Taiwan, they will most certainly have them. Failing that, you should be able to get one online.
Hi Syd, I live in California. I am hoping to visit Japan in a few years, but not soon enough.
Amazon's Japanese site has a number of different pans/forms for making Castella cakes. There are wooden ones as well.
Regards
