Standing standing standing

This is not the normal baking equipment question, but something else: I've been working on Saturdays in a local bakery, and (no surprise) it's been a lot of hours on my feet.  The floor is wood, so it's not too bad, but if I was working more days I'd probably eventually feel it in my legs.

I had an old workplace where the assembly-line workers had cushioned mats in their workspaces, and those were really nice to stand on, but that isn't really an option here.  There's shoe inserts that say they are comfortable, but I can't tell if they work or just make your shoe smaller.

What have people found helps with long-term on-your-feet work?

Professional kitchen clogs. In the US, Dansko is one of the best and with reasonable prices, but you may try also Birkenstock (make sure you ask for the professional ones).

Related to kitchen clogs, if cost is an issue, I'd say take a look at Crocs. They have a "Mario Batalli" line with closed toes and extra grippy soles. Croc's have a very cushiony sole. Check the company's online site.

I wear a pair of kitchen crocs (or whatever their correct name is) when working in the bakehouse, however standing for hours on-end doesn't seem to affect me too much.
