roti with an electric oven

Toast

hi

i bought "chakki fresh atta" flour to make roti bread.

but in the recipe direction , the final step is to put it directly on the flame (on the gas cooker) so the bread balloons up.

but i only have an electric oven, i tried putting it directly but it does not balloons up enough.

... worked for me.

Otherwise get a heavy duty baking sheet/frying pan and put it under the grill element (broiler/salamander) to get it as hot as possible and cook them on that.

more or less the same as I use - they go by various names - I know these as chapati.

Not sure where the recipe is getting sugar from - maybe something lost in translation... You have to get them really thin - about 1mm or so.

A cake rack over the element and a small circular  tray.

Element on high cook it until browned in spots like they do turn cook other side then off the tray and straight on cake rack to balloon up.

Rub with butter and do next one.

I roll them real thin on the lid of a glass crock pot, it gives me the shape to roll them too and it's easy to peel off the convex surface and flip onto the tray.
