Does YOUR bread meet Canadian military standards?

Every so often, the Canadian military issues standards for the food it buys.

I think these rules are made to make the bread as cheap as possible. Anything rising the quality in terms of artisan bread making (like sourdough) seems to be forbidden.

.... in that these are specs for an operation that is buying loads o' bread for loads o' places across a pretty heterogenous country. Lowest tender (often) = lowest common denominator

recipes, that i follow religiously, are not for faint hearted government types who run in fear of Labs and i'm not talking dogs to Lucy :-) Looks like Canadian military types are getting better pita bread off the streets in Afghanistan than from their own suppliers

... are either 1) someone buying some for him/herself in the market, or 2) flown in from afar if consumed in a dining facility. Risk of explosives notwithstanding, I know which I'd rate as a more interesting feed - as opposed to the cheapest, most consistent, safe, predictable feed (which is what big "machines" like government procurement entities think about).
