San Diego Bread Loavers meetup

Toast

Hi all, it is time for the second meeting of San Diego Bread Loavers (the "official" name for our bread group is not defined yet).

Our meeting will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2008. The exact time and place will be determined later (but it will take place in the San Diego area). Anyone in the area is welcome to join.

This time, we will also each be bringing a loaf of bread. There is no special theme -- just bring a loaf of bread. The only condition is that you have baked it yourself!

Please reply to this post if you intend to come.

I'll be there with some leavened thing to share.

My suggestion is "PALS" -- PAin Lovers of San diego...

Any other suggestions?

(Also, Floyd -- could you make this notice about the meeting a sticky subject until the date of the meeting? Thanks!)

The meeting will take place at the Kensington library again. (Floyd put a nice map for us last time. Could you do it again?)

We will meet on Saturday, January 26, at 1 PM (unless people find the time problematic, in which case we can change the time).

And... we will each bring a loaf of bread to share.

If any of you know any other baking enthusiasts in the area, please let them know about this meeting. (And don't be shy; we don't bite (unless you're bread), and these meetings are fun. How often do you get to meet other bakers?)

Not that I had any doubts, but our meeting was a lot of fun! Kurt, Susan, Sue, and I met at a local coffee shop. chatted, exchanged experiences, ideas, and tips, and also enjoyed each other's breads.

This is definitely only the beginning...

I'm a local interested in future meetups. My current work load has kept me from baking or having any kind of social life the last couple of months, but hopefully my oven will get cranked up again in a few weeks.

Just saw your post -- a day late and a loaf short -- I've been interested in something like this for a while, would love to be included in your next get-together.
