Swiss Fondue - What type of bread

Hello my baking friends,

I''m looking for suggestions on the type of bread I should bake for Swiss Fondue? I want to bring an authentic bread to a  New Year's Eve party next week.  My friend who is hosting the party is Swiss.

It has to be a white bread that is neither too crusty nor too soft.

I usually buy one of those large supermarket baguettes that has no real crust, but doesn't fall apart when you dip it into the cheese. If you have a French or Italian bread you can use that too, but it shouldn't be very airy, and you have to cut the crust off.
