Ciabata on the Big Green Egg

Toast

The Big green Egg is as close as you can come to a wood fired oven. I did 3 loaves of Jeffery Hammelman's ciabtta. It's my favorite bread.

brushed with a mix of evoo, garlic,fresh basil,S& P

Toast

got the wrong pic in there.

Thanks for the compliments.! The ciabatta didn't have a smokey flavor. When cooking or baking on the egg you have to let the VOCs burnoff the charcoal ( it stops smoking) before putting food on to cook. Otherwise you get this nasty charcoal taste.

The chicken is from Eating well. You get that fried crunchyness with out deep frying. Here's the link. I added 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs to the recipe and marinated the chicken over night in the fridge

I've got a large BGE sitting in my new garage, waiting to be assembled. This has inspired me to get it done this weekend... great looking food!

loyd

I'm in Providence, RI. I'd been lurking another set of BGE forums, I'll check that one out as well. No Eggfests so far...

Loyd,

The forum you have been looking at is the one run by corporate BGE. www/green eggers.com  is the original forum. Both are okay.A lot of us have been on the original so long that we just stayed.

In anycase you can learn alot on those forums. Get that egg assembled, start cooking, posting pics.Warning...There is no 12 step program for the eggdiction you are about to incur. The food is that good.
