Today's bake. Disappointed

Not easy getting Ten traditional Parisian baguettes (sticks) baked up at the same time.

Thanks, Gabe.

The saying don't believe everything you hear ,and only half of what you see comes to mind. Smile.

it's not easy getting a baguette bake of this size to be perfect. With only one oven I was rushing to not over proof. A couple are terribly misshapen. The last at two  in the oven were two shades too dark. (Not pictured) Six of ten were perfect. Not a good outcome. That being said. I sold four, enough to cover expenses. Like anything else practice needed.

Will, I think those look really good considering your oven space.

A bit off topic, but have you looked into renting some space in a community kitchen with more professional ovens? I don't know your area but spaces like that can be a help.

You obviously have the skills and a nice oven or larger space would let them show and allow you to expand.

However, I am doing this mostly for fun and learning. I could never bake this often, if I did not have an outlet for the products. Offsetting the cost of ingredients is a plus too. There are kitchens I could rent. However, for me to take that next first step my son's would have to want to come in with me.Then, I would hire a consultant to get me up and running .Part of why I am doing this is to see them both setup and comfortable. So far they are not interested. I cleverly hid the imperfections in the photo. Smile...

What on earth is disappointing about that?! That looks wonderful!

While this is a very good amateur outcome. I need all ten to be perfect in every respect. I will get there, if my patience holds out! Thank's Mark. Positive comments are the fuel for struggling onwards!

Kind regards,

Will F.

I cannot imagine even attempting more than three baguettes at a time Will.  I can’t believe you successfully baked ten, good for you.

I am shooting for a professional level 10of10. Loafty goal, however, at every move up in my career as a building manager, I was over my head to start. (Fake it until you make it) this later life endeavor is no different. If one waits until they are 100% ready, chances are the train has left the station. Thanks for your kind words Benny boy! I will get to the dinner rolls soon!

Best regards,

Will F.
