Fritters, doughnuts, and fry bread are all things I love eating, but I tend to avoid making them at home because I don't want to deal with the oil situation.
I bought a little doughnut baker a couple of years ago. It makes six full sized doughnuts. I have not used it once. I'm getting the urge to give it a try. I think the biggest issue will be how much water to add to the dough/batter. This is one of those deals where, I'm sure, even if they are less than perfect, they will be pretty good, and none will be thrown away.
