Rye with walnuts is pretty traditional. Romans made bread with chestnut flour and planted chestnuts all over Europe when they had set up military posts and settlements a couple thousand years ago. Most likely still making bread with chestnut flour or some portion of it. Chilean Indians use pine nuts to make a bread. Hickory nut flour?
