This is adapted from hamelman's "whole wheat with multigrain soaker" loaf. Used barley and sunflower kernels in the soaker.
I added 100g diced jalapenos and 21g wheat germ (dragged in from tartine), some maple syrup, and it smells great out of dutch oven. I used wheat bran on the bottom for the first time. Seems to be fine.

Bread with a kick! Love the idea and will give this a go. Were the jalapenos fresh or from a jar? I hardly ever stray from Hamelman bread formulas. I recently upgraded my book from edition 1 to edition 2 that was worth the outlay as it has a lot more recipes and a few additional shaping techniques and corrections.

These ones are from a jar. I've used fresh jalapenos from the produce area and they work fine as well.
