I recently wrote to Kenwood/de Longhi customer desk in the UK to enquire about the gearing and RPM for the dough hook or paddle at each of knob settings as they circulate inside the bowl of my Kenwood Major Titanium. I received the following data, which may interest fellow TFLers. The gearing comes in at 3.33:
RPM | ||
Knob setting | Planetary hub | Beater, whisk |
Min | 42 | 140 |
1 | 80 | 266 |
2 | 98 | 326 |
3 | 120 | 400 |
4 | 145 | 483 |
5 | 170 | 566 |
6 | 190 | 633 |
Max | 200 | 666 |
Hi Portus,
Do you by any chance know if these numbers apply also to my Kenwood Chef XL Titanium?
I am not entirely sure, but I think this is the model that replaced the Major Titanium.
Thanks,
François
I do not know, François, but I can confirm the data sent to me was titled "Classic Chef and Major," though my query related to my Titanium Major. I hazard a guess that the same gear ratios apply throughout the range, with any differences relating, in the main, to bowl and/or motor size. Perhaps run an audit at slow speed and count the RPM?
Joe
Hi Joe,
This is indeed what I will do. Mine has an even lower setting, below the minimum. The speeds might also be mentioned in the manual, but I haven't checked yet.
I will let you know.
Thanks again,
Francois
Yep, check it out.
