was thinking about what bread to bake, BBGA spreadsheets that I have set up but not yet tried, so started my levain build and things just took off at a tangent from there.
Today's bake: Lemon and raspberry muffins and mocha chocolate chip cookies.
feel good now! :)

Are your more of a bread baker? These just look so inviting.
probably bake more bread these days, I was just a home baker, baking for family as they grew up.
Yesterday the spreadsheets got the better of me and so I baked quick things. Alan's post with the BBGA spreadsheets got me hooked but I found my formulae aren't working properly. Back to the drawing board!
Will probably make a couple of small 1:2:3 loaves and see if there is enough levain left to do something else.
The house smells a bit at the moment as I am seasoning a couple of unglazed quarry tiles I found the other day.
Happy baking Pal

I've become more of a bread baker over the past year and in the process I've kind of lost my sweet tooth!
But your muffins and cookies look absolutely delicious. Lemon flavoured anything is always a win for me.
Hope the spreadsheet work out for you :)

the muffins were very good and not overly sweet!

a new recipe so I am happy with them. As for the cookies, well I used to make them for my kids too!
It is late spring here so some days are really nice followed by cool blustery weather like this weekend. Perfect for baking!
My bread was not so brilliant and I won't post anything - ended up just simple 1:2:3 with a bit of rye and a bit of WW (we had unexpected visitors.) Not sure why but crumb is not as open as usual - maybe overfermented. oh well you get that from time to time! so hopefully next batch will be better and i plan to use the spreadsheet I have set up.
Happy Baking
