I made a trip from my home in Florida to California to visit with a friend. Well in advance I contacted David Snyder to see if we could share a lunch together. Took the ride down to visit and 4 hours later my friend Mike and I drove back north to Lodi.

We three discussed quite an array of topics and even, yes, bread! Mike had been a bagel baker at Holey Bagel in SF many years ago. It was a delightful visit and I'm so glad that I made the contact and trek down. Delivered to him my version of his outstanding sourdough Italian baguettes as a batard, and my version of Ken's Artisan Bakery's raisin-pecan whole wheat demi baguettes also as a batard.
