I made this loaf of challah to eat while playing bridge with some friends. The recipe is from George Greenstein's [i]Secrets of a Jewish Baker[/i]. I followed his tip to apply the egg wash (one egg beaten with one tsp. of water) to the loaf, let dry, then apply a second time. This technique yielded the characteristic shine.
Looks perfect and I'm sure will taste great.
