Hi from southern California, particularly, Redlands, CA!  Happy 4th of July to those of you in the USA.  I'm fairly new into baking, less than a year.  I got the somewhat-maligned Artisan Bread in 5 minutes a Day first and was pretty happy with the results.  Then I was fortunate enough to find this website and started to do a lot of reading and watched a lot of videos.

I saw people talking about Tartine and the Tartine method.  I ended up buying the Tartine book, then Bread, then Reinhart's Whole Grain Breads.  I made a starter a few months back quite by accident, letting a very high hydration yeasted dough sit a little too long in the fridge.  From my reading on this site, it seemed like I could expect it to convert into a wild starter.  I started caring for it, and it's pretty healthy now.  Anyway, happy to be here, and I am very appreciative of all of the wonderful information and ideas collected and shared here.
