I think I fed my sourdough starter once this summer.  I thought for sure it was a goner, but I fed it last Saturday night and, lo and behold, Sunday morning it had nearly tripled in size.  It baked a great looking loaf.

Congrats Floyd!! I had the same miraculous thing happen to me!! Only my starter hadn't been fed in about 8 months!!! I took it out of the fridge to dump it when I got home...(I am a travel Nurse and had been out of state) but thought why not...so I fed it just to see what would happen and OH MY GOD!!! It smells AMAZING and it so active!!!! Now I am not sure what to do with it!!!! I have read some posters say they keep theirs on the counter and some say they keep theirs in the fridge! I have kept mine out on the counter and fed it yesterday and am DYING to make a loaf or 2 with it today!!! I am getting ready to leave again...this time for 2 years and plan to take it with me in the camper....but I can't seem to find a clear answer on how long to wait after feeding it before I can use it!!! Also....(sorry this is so long!) I have tried more than a dozen times to make various starters and this is the FIRST TIME I actually have had success!! I am SOOOO EXCITED!! Can I use it today???????

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE THIS SITE!!!

Cool boule, Floyd.  Pretty design.

At what hydration do you keep your starter?
