Hi bread baking enthusiasts!
My name is Shauna, I am studying Health and Wellness at the University of Minnesota. I spend my free time baking and cooking, in an attempt to clear my cupboards of factory made baked goods and "who-knows-how-processed" foods. I haven't purchased a loaf of bread from the grocery store in months and I am happy to say I have managed to bake myself and my housemates some incredibly satisfying loaves. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from every fresh loaf of bread I pull out of my oven. Whenever my baked goods turn out, a rush of excitement and gratification runs through my body and I am always thrilled to share my creations with my loved ones. I look forward to documenting my own baking experiences on The Fresh Loaf and to read other baker's blogs and forums.
Happy kneading to you all!

Hello Shauna,
Welcome to the site. You are among friends here. We all share your passion for creating the best tasting and healthiest bread products we can.
You are lucky in that not far from you is a source for fresh ground Whole Wheat and Rye that is really outstanding. Here is the link for Country Creations which is an organic grain farm and small milling operation. They use a local delivery service so anyone in the delivery area gets fast service and very inexpensive shipping costs. They have lots of other grains but I don't use any other rye or WW it's so good.
I look forward to seeing your work.
