Old Hobart 200 mixer

Hello everyone.

We have a old 200 mixer bought a few months ago. My sons were using the mixer and it locked up.

First thing when taking apart the ring gear had 2 broken teeth. Also the 15 tooth trans shaft gear very sharp.

We ordered the ring gear, new 15 tooth gear and a bronze worm gear.  Every thing else looked good.

When assembled the mixer locks up. Has been apart so many times, looked at diagram seems right.

The shafts jump up. Score marks on top side of worm gear. The worm gear shaft has a tiny snap ring at the top that

holds it against the upper bearing, this has some up and down play in it. When the motor is engaged both trans and

worm shaft jump up toward the cover of the unit.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions to remedy the problem we're having
