Buttermilk plant went bad.
Really sour, like sour milk, so it had to be pitched. I've e-mailed the Ballmaloe cooking school about this buttermilk plant and hope to hear from Darina Allen about this "plant." When I do, I'll let you know.
My experiment didn't turn out well. I was always stirring it, and I know you didn't, but, well, so no curds formed and there were just a few specks of something after pouring very sour milk through a fine filter. I added some milk to it and it just sits there now.
