Hello from Florida

Just discovered this website by following a pizza related link.  It looks very interesting.

I am a retired engineer, living in Florida, who has been baking for about 50 years.  Mostly bread, but also cakes, pizza, cookies, and other associated baked goods.  I lived in France for about 10 years, and have strong opinions about what makes a good baguette, which I have NEVER been able to make myself, but my wife is pretty happy with the breads I bake, and that is very important to me.  I am a big fan of Lahey bread, multigrain, and a handful of rustic French breads.  Italian panetone are a  specialty.  Have been doing pizza for about 10 years, on the grill for the last 5.

I will just lurk for a while before I dip my oar in the water.  Thanks to all for your ideas.

This is, indeed, a wonderful site for all things bread-even GF or non yeasted bread! Your experience is welcome and interesting to everyone here.

Whereabouts in Florida are you? I'm in Palm Harbor, just north of Clearwater and we are all bracing for Idalia. Stay safe!

Welcome from Florida!

I'm a Floridian too, on the east coast. I have not been baking bread for very long, but this is a nice and helpful community. I mostly do muffins and cookies with a side of cake.
