Matte Beige Surface On Discard In Fridge

My starter is fed with whole wheat and 100% hydration. I put my discard in the fridge and I feed it about once a month. It usually produces hooch. I checked on it recently and this time, there was no hooch BUT a matte surface with black spots. The black spots could be heavily oxidized bran but I'm not sure. The spots were not fuzzy and I did not see any mold. I scraped the top and it looked creamy and cloudy. It smelled heavily of alcohol. II searched up Kahm yeast but it didn't look like it. I looked very closely at the surface and it was not fuzzy at all, mostly just a matte beige liquid. It still safe to feed and use?
