Getting creative with Packaging
I give a lot of bread away to my neighbors and so decided to have a bit of fun and create this packaging...and alter-ego...and fictitious city. All fake, but the bread is the real deal -
Boomshanka y'all !

What a great idea, I need to get some bread bags to make gifting bread easier. Fabulous baguette as always Geremy.

There seems to be quite a few options for bags online. Most of which are plain or with some kind of design / generic text. Customizing though- its another story. One company told me that rhe minimum order for custom is 100,000 units. Hence, get out the exact knife and glue stick.
These are so nice, Geremy! Both the baguettes and the packaging. Lutz Angeles!!! : )))
Your baguettes are to die for, WOW! So pretty, thin skinned with tender crumb. Looking so delicious.
I love the fact that yiu get t he little joke there. It goes over som people head. The fact of rhe matter is that bread in LA blows. So you know, I am trying to alter reality a little bit. Thanks for the feedback !
I respectfully disagree about bread in Los Angeles. There are a growing number of excellent bakeries here. And it’s the home of La Brea bakery. In addition, there is a vibrant community of home bakers here, as you may know. In general, Americans don’t care about quality bread, so there’s not much market for good bread. But one is more able to get a decent loaf of bread here than the average city in the US.
I do agree that your baguettes are beautiful, though.
Does bread really 'blow here ? - probably not. That was just me being hyperbolic but funny though, we were just talking about la brea. Used to be good until it was bought out. Personally I really don't think la brea is all the hype - people here just love rank food and I often hear 'oh ! La brea has the BEST (<- emphatically) bread', then what happens is Portos in burbank starts seeing lines out the door and if you're really hip LA type, well super points for siting Portos. Either way, IMHO none of it holds a candle to what you get on the streets in Europe. But I will say this - LA has really great bagels though - I don't bother making bagels coz I can pick up dozen from Buellers for 18 bucks ;)
We can agree to disagree. I live in walking distance to Seed bakery, and there are dozens of places like it through the Los Angeles area - several good ones that sell at FMs. I agree that La Brea has become just another commercial bakery that produces stuff that looks nice but tastes bland. But it kicked off a movement, and is due respect for that.
I will have to check out seeds on a weekend or something. West side where I"m at used to have some good bakeries. Bouchon (which closed) was up there.
The batons look good and the sack is well suited to LA LA Land Shaka laka! When I get more settled I have a gas oven story to tell you all about.
When I came here back in the 80s, one of my friends said to 'enjoy Maui wowie' not realizing cali and Hawaii are two different states. Ha ha ! OK j want to hear some good gas oven stories- is it better than mine? I mean, is it worse than fire coming out of the vents :□
Any reason, then or now, that Californians couldn't/can't import smokeables from HI ?
(Not that I would do anything like that.)
I duck'd (duckduckgo'd) "lutz angeles" and got some really funky pinterest pages.
I'm really impressed you 'duck'd' the results. I wouldn't touch google (on purpose) with a 10 ft pole - so evil. Now as for funky results, I was expecting and half hoping for some ice skating content Lutz jump - Wikipedia
Awesome idea! I love how you stamped the logo on (or is it printed?). i like the icon, it's like you're saying "giddyy-up bread bakers!"
Near Mar Vista. A long schlep for me, but i stop by when i go to the beach. Very delicious multigrain sourdough there. Moist, open crumb cooked in a wood oven.
