Wish List for Bakers

What bread goodies are you hoping to receive this Christmas? I want a Super Peel, and will be browsing my local bookstore to narrow down my wishlist for bread books. I'd like to have the Hearth Rye bread pan from King Arthur.

Here is the holiday gift guide I put together last year. JMonkey added some more good things in the comments, so be sure to scroll down.

The two books I'd add that weren't on the list last year are Peter Reinhart's Whole Grain Breads and Daniel Leader's Local Breads. They are both lovely books. And, yeah, the Super Peel is very nice.

The coolest new hardware I've discovered in the last 6 months is using transparent, covered containers for fermenting bread (or SD starter). KA Baker's Catalogue has a variety of plastic rising buckets. I love the set of 3 1 qt. ones with covers for feeding my starters. Anchor glass makes a 2 qt. covered measuring "cup" which is just the right size for a 3-3 1/2 lb. batch of bread dough.

Being able to measure the rising precisely and, best of all, being able to watch the lovely bubbles develop in your starter or dough is a kick.

Clearly, it doesn't take much to amuse me.

The 2 qt covered pitcher is also great for mixing the dry ingredients in a recipe (for pancakes, waffles, muffins) the night before and leaving them covered on the counter, ready to go the next morning.
